Group and Individual Instillation Process
Group Instillation
"A Plastic Population"

About
This instillation project required many different skills and processes. It started off with individual research about a contemporary world issue, then, as a group the idea was abstracted in order to convey the issue in a new and artistic way. There were many ideas to start but eventually they led to "a plastic population". This final model shows the over-use of plastic in today's society and humanizes the issue with the form and fleshy color choice. It is meant to represent how humans have microplastics within their bodies and are "becoming" plastic. The overflow of plastic at the bottom creates the allusion of the body stuck in the problem of plastic consumption.

3D Models

These models show how the project concept changed and developed throughout this process. Some ideas that are shown in these models include the possibility of a sink with a wave of plastic flowing out, or heads made of plastic, ultimately the middle image was the closest model to the final instillation.
